His research interests are optimization and machine learning algorithms for various problems, including continuous, combinatorial, and multi-objective problems. His current research focuses on the experimental analysis, automatic algorithm configuration and automatic selection of optimization algorithms. He is also interested in understanding and realistically simulating human decision-makers that interact with such algorithms.
His research interests include generative modelling and deep neuroevolution. He applies and devises machine learning algorithms for various (real-world) problems that can be defined as continuous, combinatorial, and multi-objective optimization problems. His current projects focus on smart (green and inclusive) cities and environmental sustainability.
